Developers will have to focus on three aspects - land use, associated infrastructure and energy. The success of flying cars will depend on minimizing or the effective use of this three resources. It is technology that will define how long will it take for flying cars to become part of our daily lives. If technology can guarantee efficient energy and land use and safety then soon it will happen. 

The surviellance system can totally be shifted towards drones. Then drones can easily replace the day to day needs of customers like groceries and household items.
